Light fixtures scale back energy use in office and warehouse
Improvements in light fixture design and strict environmental guidelines are the driving force behind the increase in energy efficient lighting fixtures.
Manufacturers are producing recessed fixtures that produce better light output with less energy. Volumetric lighting, a popular term coined by Lithonia Lighting, fills commercial, office, and retail spaces with comfortable light while still reducing energy consumption. Other innovations to recessed troffers include a shallow luminaire design that uses less material and all-steel fixtures that allow for easy recycling when the fixture is spent.
High-output fluorescent high bay fixtures are the newest items in warehouses and other high bay applications. These fixtures combine high ambient operation with the reliability, energy efficiency and lighting quality of fluorescent lighting. They also reduce operating costs by consuming less energy and maintenance costs when compared to other lighting solutions.
In most applications, these leading edge office and warehouse fixtures can be combined with occupancy sensors to further reduce your energy expenditures. Some of these fixtures can also use the leading edge lamps, such as LEDs, that are being introduced at a rapid pace and will contribute significantly to savings.
