Lamp and ballast makers over the last decade have created products that can help cut lighting costs 30-60% while enhancing light quality, maintaining appropriate light levels in the workplace, improving work conditions and reducing environmental impacts.

Government facilities have many new options to implement energy efficient lighting. T8 and T5 lamps with electronic ballasts have led to a 40-50% improvement in lighting system efficiency. Compact fluorescents, or CFLs, are also a great energy solution to replace incandescent bulbs.
